Fuso accelerates trucking’s push into digital retail

Mitsubishi Fuso's Head of International Sales, Marketing and Customer Services speaks to Megan Lampinen about the importance of cultivating a solid online presence

Internet retail has skyrocketed over the last few years, with the pandemic and subsequent lockdown measures providing the most recent boost in activity. Consumers are now shopping for everything from groceries to new cars on their mobile phones and laptops. The trend is even making its way into the commercial vehicle sector, where fleet operators can purchase work trucks via various online platforms.

Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) believes this is one trend that won't prove transitory. Through its local distributor KTB, the company has begun offering shoppers in Indonesia a completely digital sales process on Tokopedia, the largest online marketplace platform in the country. From start to finish, the whole purchase can be completed without ever having to step foot inside a dealership.
